Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD)

The Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program is a pre-trial diversionary program for first time non-violent offenders.  Individuals seeking admission into the program must have no prior criminal record or prior ARD dispositions. . Generally, the individual must waive their preliminary hearing and formal arraignment to receive ARD. 

 

The program is designed to remove the case from the criminal system with the approval of a Common Plea Judge upon successful completion of the program. Upon successful completion of the program, the criminal charges are dismissed and expunged from their criminal history record. 

The District Attorney has the discretion to deny eligibility into the ARD program
